Focus of Program: Barnett House is a community based, therapeutically
supportive setting designed to provide long-term support to four(4) young women who are
fifteen(15) to twenty-one(21) years of age, and who are actively preparing for
independence. Barnett House opened initially to provide continuity of care to the
young women who graduate from Chisholm Treatment Centre, but also accepts referrals from
other agencies. The program emphasis is on the development of life skills, and
individual case plans include education, and/or vocational training and employment.
Appropriate after-care plans are explored with community support systems, in order to
assist the young women as they graduate from the program and assume the tasks of
independent adulthood.
