There are levels of parent training that are provided to clients referred from Lackawana Children and Youth Services and the local mental health centers.  The first level is basic parent training.  The program targets parents of younger children from birth to age twelve, but primarily ages five through eleven.  All sessions are done in the parents' homes scheduled at their convenience.

Another level is training that discusses related psychological/interpersonal dynamics for parents of children between nine and seventeen.  Parents receive ongoing support in addition to learning new methods of effectively setting limits, structuring activities, and disciplining their children.  Parents receive individual attention to meet their specific needs to improve parenting skills

Practical assistance incorporates components beyond traditional parent training topics, e.g., housekeeping, transportation health care, and personal hygiene.  These levels of parent training are intended to avert more serious intervention subsequently by improving parenting skills on the level necessary.  Parents have access to the parent educators by pager everyday, twenty-four hours per day.
