Focus of Program: Residential treatment is a small, person-centered program(capacity ten) which meets the needs of adolescent girls who require placement outside their homes.  An environment is created in which a girl can come to know herself, recognize her problems and attempt to resolve them.  The Continuum of available services allows for considerable flexibility in meeting particular needs at various stages during the placement experience -- the goal being successful reintegration into her family and/or home community.

Group living affords a girl many new and growth-producing experiences.   Intensive efforts are made by the group living staff to reach each girl on an individual basis -- to give her every opportunity to evolve and develop her capacity to relate to others.

Group living engenders an appreciation of responsibility to others and in a broader context promotes a sense of society.  Under the guidance of the Group Leader, a girl begins to learn her basic patterns of response to people, to stress, to frustration, and to success.

Residential treatment is offered in conjunction with a co-Ed day treatment/partial hospitalization program.  This integration is an asset in that it fosters a more typical environment.

Families are welcome to visit regularly and there is also a planned series of visits home.  Home visits are therapeutically designed and timed to give a girl and her family opportunities to interact with each other in the context of the family/community setting.  it is hoped that after each visit, parents will communicate the success of the visit to the girl's therapist by appointment, telephone, or letter.
